How We Select Our Best Colleges

With more than 4,000 colleges and universities in the country, how can you possibly research them all? You can’t–and for the first time, you don’t have to. Collegenquirer has created lists of the top ten schools in categories that matter most to parents and students by compiling nationally recognized surveys of schools, students, and published rankings, and integrating quantitative, publicly available information compiled by the U.S. Dept. of Education Center for Education Statistics.

Our rankings are unique in that we integrate multiple sources that include survey data from students as well as universities. We capture data from a range of media sources like US News & World Report, student–based sources such as College Prowler, and educational services such as Princeton Review. Selected rankings may also include survey data from our own studies administered to university representatives or enrolled college students. As such, our rankings represent the “best of the best,” and colleges ranked on our lists have appeared in typically two or more sources in the top classifications. Unlike other college rankings, our lists leave little to chance and ensure you’re getting the best information from a variety of sources. You can trust the information, and you can trust us to present it in a way that provides the most practical help as you and your student work through the college consideration process.
